In a heartwarming and celebratory event, Ranchi resident Prem Gupta brought his daughter, Sakshi Gupta, back home from her in-law’s house amid allegations of torture and her decision to file for divorce. On the auspicious occasion of the first day of Navaratri, Mr. Gupta orchestrated a grand reunion, complete with a musical band and fireworks, in the Bajra-Sarweshwari Nagar locality.

Prem Gupta shared a video of the joyous occasion on his social media account, emphasizing the importance of bringing back daughters with respect and honor when marriages face difficulties, as daughters are considered precious. Last April, Gupta married off his daughter to Sachin Kumar, an assistant engineer at Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited. However, shortly after the marriage, Sakshi Gupta faced harassment from her husband and in-laws, including being thrown out of the house on occasions.

Sakshi later discovered that her husband had been married twice before their marriage, prompting her to inform her father about the situation. The family initially attempted to resolve the issues amicably, but when their efforts proved unsuccessful, Sakshi filed a divorce petition, which is currently pending in court.

Regarding Sakshi’s future, Prem Gupta, a real estate businessman, stated, “As of now, we have not decided anything, but if my daughter wishes to start a new life with a new partner, we will support her wholeheartedly. They have now mutually agreed to divorce, and the family court of Ranchi will soon announce the decision.”

Sakshi Gupta expressed her gratitude and happiness for having parents who have been so supportive throughout this challenging period. Her mother, Veena, and brother, Ujjwal, also shared in the joy of these positive developments.

Efforts to reach Sakshi’s in-law’s family for comment were unsuccessful.
