Air India crew members endured a substandard hotel stay in Hyderabad, sparking criticism over inadequate accommodations lacking basic amenities.

During a recent layover, Air India crew members faced a frustrating and uncomfortable situation when they were left searching for proper accommodations for hours before being provided with a substandard hotel. The incident occurred on Wednesday night after the crew landed in Hyderabad during a long-haul flight.

Cabin crew members, responsible for the safety and comfort of passengers, rely on their airlines to ensure they have adequate rest during layovers. Typically, airlines arrange hotel accommodations, which can range from luxurious to basic, to help crew members recover from fatigue.

However, Air India came under scrutiny for failing to meet these standards. The crew was left waiting for hours before being directed to a shabby hotel that lacked basic amenities such as bedsheets and towels.

An X user, outraged by the situation, shared pictures of the hotel and criticized the airline’s management. “Air India, if you want to be a world-class airline, you do not treat your fatigued crew on a scheduled layover flight this way. You simply DO NOT. Hunting/wrestling for hotel rooms for four hours after a flight – and this is what is ‘offered’! No bedsheets, towels, basics??? Those days are over, for sure, but this trade-off is sub-par,” she wrote.

The post has garnered a lot of reactions on social media, with many slamming the airline.

A user wrote, “Just shocking! I can’t believe it’s dropped so low.”

“You must be joking! Even the lowest of low cost carrier will not treat its crew so shabbily”, another said surprisingly

“Yikes, this seems very shabby. In so many respects, not just the physical appearance. Quite unacceptable,” a comment read

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about the treatment of airline staff and the importance of ensuring that crew members are provided with adequate rest facilities to maintain their well-being and readiness for subsequent flights.
