Due to relaxation in lockdown in Pune city since June 1, the crowd of citizens in the city has started increasing. Citizens who don’t have private vehicles, are especially suffering from hardworking. Hence, a meeting was held by Muralidhar Mohol, Mayor Pune today on 20 August 2020 at the Conference Hall, Mayor Office, in order to leave part of the restricted area and central area and start the service of PMPML.

In this meeting, there is a possibility of crowd during the period of Shri Ganeshotsav, that is after Ganeshotsava. The decision to start PMPML bus service on 3 September 2020 has been taken unanimously.

421 buses are planned to be operated on 190 routes of 13 depot in the corporation. PMPML shuttle service is organised to start morning / evening during crowded time at the city’s major roads suburbs. More crowded roads are preferred in this. In the background of Corona infection, only 50 % of passengers with seat capacity will be provided. Also, marking painting has been done on the seat in buses to follow social distancing. Also, circle painting is underway at the main station.
