A Good Government Honors the Righteous and Punishes the Wicked, says Nitin Gadkari
A good government is one that honors good people and punishes the wrongdoers, said Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari. He was speaking at the Arun Bongirwar Public Service Excellence Award ceremony at Vanamati Education Centre, Nagpur on Sunday.
The awards were presented to three officers who made outstanding contributions in their respective fields. Jitendra Dudi, Satara District Collector, was honored for creating 450 model schools during his tenure as the CEO of the Sangli Zilla Parishad. Tejaswi Satpute, currently Deputy Commissioner of Police in Mumbai, was recognized for eradicating the illicit liquor trade in 70 villages and rehabilitating the affected families while serving as the Superintendent of Police in Solapur. Sarita Narke, Deputy Collector of Pune, was awarded for her work in digitizing land records.
The Arun Bongirwar Public Service Excellence Award is presented annually by the Arun Bongirwar Foundation in collaboration with the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration.
The ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Praveen Pardeshi, CEO of Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA), Siddharth Pardeshi, Secretary of Education in Chhattisgarh, Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, Foundation President Lata Bongirwar, and former administrative officer Pramod Bongirwar.
These officers were commended for their commitment to public service and their exemplary contributions to the welfare of society. Gadkari’s remarks highlighted the importance of a government that ensures justice by recognizing good work and addressing wrongdoing.
The awards aim to encourage public servants to uphold excellence in their duties.
