A New Way To Explore Pune: PMPML’s Air-Conditioned Buses Make City Tours More Comfortable
Pune, a city known for its rich history and culture, is now offering an exciting new way for both tourists and residents to explore its many heritage sites comfortably. The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has introduced an air-conditioned bus service called the “Pune Darshan” to provide an affordable and stress-free tour of the city’s historic landmarks. The full-day city tour is priced at just ₹500.
The service, which operates daily, departs from two major locations: the Deccan Gymkhana Bus Station and the Moledina Bus Stand near Pune Station. Buses will leave at 8:45 AM from Pune Station and at 9:00 AM from Deccan Gymkhana.
In the words of the PMPML Chief Transport Manager, “Our goal is to make city tourism more accessible and enjoyable.” He further explained, “Pune has a vibrant history and culture, and this initiative is designed to help tourists experience it comfortably, with guided tours and air-conditioned travel.”
Stops on the Pune Darshan Tour include some of Pune’s most iconic cultural and historical landmarks, such as:
- Kesariwada
- Shaniwarwada
- Lal Mahal
- Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple (external view)
- Mahatma Phule Wada

- P. L. Deshpande Garden
- Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum
- Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum
- Chaturshringi Temple

A professional guide will accompany each bus, offering insightful commentary on the history and significance of each stop.
Although the tour covers a wide array of landmarks, the PMPML requests that tourists remain flexible, as certain factors such as traffic or time constraints may occasionally prevent a stop from being included. As the Chief Transport Manager noted, “Due to factors like traffic congestion or time constraints, we may occasionally have to skip one or two locations. We request passengers to cooperate in such situations.”
This service has been designed to appeal to both local residents and outstation tourists. The PMPML representative emphasized, “This is not just a bus ride; it’s a journey through Pune’s culture and history. And now with air-conditioning and an affordable price, it’s more convenient than ever.”
Tickets can be easily booked at the Deccan Gymkhana or Pune Station (Moledina) PMPML bus stands, offering tourists a seamless experience as they explore the heart of Pune.
