Actress Humaira Asghar Found Dead in Flat After Two Weeks
The 32-year-old ‘Tamasha Ghar’ star was discovered in a decomposed state; investigation underway
In a tragic incident, Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar, aged 32, was found dead in her Karachi flat, her body decomposing for over two weeks before police discovered it. Humaira had featured in several films, reality shows, and theatre productions, and was known for her appearance in the popular reality show ‘Tamasha Ghar’, Pakistan’s version of Bigg Boss.
The discovery came to light after the landlord approached the court due to unpaid rent over several months and repeated failed attempts to contact her. The court directed the Gizri police to visit the residence. Officers arrived at around 3:15 PM, only to find the flat locked from inside with a strong stench emanating from it. On breaking open the door, police found Humaira’s body in a highly decomposed state.
According to South Deputy Inspector General Syed Asal Raza, there were no immediate signs of foul play. The forensic team has collected samples, and the body was sent to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for postmortem.
Dr. Sumaiya Syed, who is overseeing the postmortem, stated that the cause of death is yet to be determined, and investigations are ongoing. Police are also attempting to reach her family through her mobile records.
Humaira Asghar was known for her work in modelling, theatre, and television, and was last seen in the reality show ‘Tamasha Ghar’, which gained her considerable recognition. She was reportedly living alone at the time of her death.
This heartbreaking incident follows recent celebrity losses and has once again sparked concerns over the mental health and isolation faced by individuals in the entertainment industry. Fans and colleagues have expressed grief and shock, with many remembering her as talented, vibrant, and full of life.
The investigation will continue once the postmortem report is released, which is expected to shed light on the exact cause of her untimely death.
