Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday conducted a review meeting with the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) to assess the progress of key infrastructure projects, including the establishment of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Pune. Pawar emphasized the need for timely completion to avoid cost escalations and financial losses to the state.

During the meeting, Pawar directed officials to maintain regular communication with the Union Health Ministry regarding the AIIMS project. “Delays lead to increased costs, ultimately resulting in losses for the state. We must focus on completing projects on time,” he said.

He also raised concerns about Pune’s growing traffic congestion, highlighting the need to expedite the Pune Ring Road project. Pawar noted that the city’s transport infrastructure is under immense pressure due to the addition of thousands of new vehicles each year. “Metro projects, flyovers, and the ring road must be completed swiftly to ensure smooth commutes for Punekars,” he added.
