Pune, October 11, 2025: Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune, established in 1994 with the vision of empowering the wards of defence personnel through quality technical education, has consistently upheld its reputation for excellence. Over the years, AIT has not only nurtured innovation and leadership in engineering but also emerged as a powerhouse in co-curricular and sports arenas. In recent days, the institute has made its mark by winning several prestigious hackathons and delivering exceptional performances. Army Institute of Technology, has achieved a momentous victory at the ‘Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025‘, a prestigious National Cyber Challenge organized by the Territorial Army in collaboration with CyberPeace. The team from AIT secured the First Prize in the highly competitive Datathon track, which focused on developing real-time threat prediction and anomaly detection solutions for Defence.

Participating  AIT team impressed the judging panel with their cutting-edge solution under the theme: ‘Quantum Machine Learning for Threat Detection’. The Datathon track saw robust participation and received more than 6,300 solutions from across India, including teams from major institutions like IITs, NITs, and IIITs, as well as working professionals from top companies. The AIT team’s victory highlights the institute’s excellence in emerging technologies critical to national security.

The team’s success was celebrated at the highest echelons of the defence establishment, following a rigorous itinerary: the high-intensity, 36-hour Hackathon was conducted on October 6th and 7th at the Warden Center, Delhi Cantonment. The results were announced on October 8th, where the team was immediately awarded the â‚¹1 Lakh prize cheque by the Director General of the Territorial Army, Major General S. S. Patil. Capping off their victory, the team received the prestigious Millennial Trophy on October 9th from the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, during a ceremony held at the 129 D Conference Hall, South Block, Ministry of Defence, Delhi.
