Pune, July 26, 2025: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has announced a major railway infrastructure plan aimed at reducing traffic congestion and boosting regional connectivity in and around Pune. As per the proposed project, a new 75-km railway line will be developed covering multiple key locations.

The route will extend from Talegaon to Chakan, then to Wagholi, Uruli, and finally connect to the Solapur-Pune Road. A separate link will connect Miraj Road to the existing Miraj railway line. Land acquisition instructions have already been issued to the Collector’s office for expedited execution.

Two new stations—New Talegaon Station and Uruli Station—will be established under the plan. In addition, another railway corridor from Wagholi to Ahilyanagar has been proposed.
