Bollywood’s action icon Akshay Kumar is once again making headlines, but this time, it has nothing to do with his films or upcoming projects. Instead, it’s his recent string of real estate transactions in Mumbai that’s caught everyone’s attention. Over the last seven months, the superstar has sold eight properties across some of the city’s most sought-after neighborhoods, collectively valued at ₹110 crore.

The scale and timing of these sales have sparked intense speculation. Is Akshay planning to leave Mumbai? Or is this a calculated financial move to restructure his investments? While there’s been no official statement from the actor himself, the sheer volume of high-value property sales certainly raises eyebrows.

Over the past few months, Akshay Kumar has offloaded a mix of residential apartments and commercial office spaces in Borivali, Worli, and Lower Parel—areas known for their premium real estate value.

A significant portion of these transactions were made in Oberoi Sky City, Borivali, where Akshay owned multiple flats.

On January 21, 2025, he sold a 3BHK apartment (1,073 sq ft) for ₹4.25 crore. This unit was purchased in November 2017 for ₹2.38 crore, resulting in a 78% profit.

In March 2025, another 1,073 sq ft 3BHK apartment in the same complex was sold for ₹4.35 crore, fetching an even better 84% return.

During the same month, Akshay sold two studio apartments combined for ₹6.60 crore. These units, bought in 2017 for ₹2.82 crore, delivered a striking 89% return on investment.

Most recently, on July 16, 2025, he sold two adjacent residential apartments in the same project for ₹7.10 crore, which were originally acquired in 2017 for ₹3.69 crore.

The Rs.80 Crore Blockbuster Deal in Worli

Perhaps the most eye-popping deal came from the Worli area. On January 31, 2025, Akshay and his wife Twinkle Khanna sold their lavish 6,830 sq ft luxury apartment in the Oberoi Three Sixty West project for a whopping ₹80 crore.

The apartment, located on the 39th floor, also included four dedicated parking spaces. This transaction stands out as one of the highest residential deals in the city this year.

In April 2025, Akshay sold his commercial office space in the One Place Lodha complex, Lower Parel, for ₹8 crore.

The actor had originally bought this office in 2020 for ₹4.85 crore, which means he earned a solid 65% profit within five years—another sign of smart real estate timing.

So, Is Akshay Really Leaving Mumbai?

The big question that now looms is—why is Akshay Kumar selling off so much property in such a short time? Is he preparing to relocate outside of Mumbai? Or is this simply a move to rebalance his real estate portfolio?

With no official word yet, many are left to speculate. Some industry insiders believe it could be part of a broader investment strategy, especially considering the healthy returns he’s made on each sale. Others wonder if the actor is preparing for a lifestyle shift, possibly abroad, given his international ties.
