Actor’s car hit from behind; no injuries reported, police launch investigation
Actor Vijay Deverakonda narrowly escaped a road accident earlier today on NH-44 (Hyderabad–Bengaluru Highway) near Jogulamba Gadwal district in Telangana.
The incident occurred while the actor was travelling from Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad, Telangana, when another car reportedly rammed into his Lexus LM350h from behind. The vehicle sustained damage, but no one was injured in the mishap. The other car involved continued toward Hyderabad without stopping after the collision.
Following the incident, Deverakonda’s driver lodged a complaint with local police, who have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Vijay safely reached Hyderabad later in the day.
The actor had been returning from a family visit to Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s Prasanthi Nilayam Ashram in Puttaparthi, where he had gone shortly after reports emerged about his engagement to actor Rashmika Mandanna on October 3. Though neither Vijay nor Rashmika has officially confirmed the engagement, reports suggest the ceremony was attended by close family and friends. Fans also spotted a ring on Vijay’s finger in photos from his Puttaparthi visit, fuelling further speculation.
Sources indicate that the couple may tie the knot in February 2026, though no formal announcement has been made.

Hours after the accident, Vijay reassured fans through a post on X (formerly Twitter):
“All is well. The car took a hit, but we are all fine. Went and did a strength workout as well, and just got back home. My head hurts, but nothing that a biryani and sleep won’t fix. So, biggest hugs and my love to all of you. Don’t let the news stress you.”
His calm and humorous response quickly went viral, earning appreciation from fans for his composed attitude following the scare.
