Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced six airbags as a standard feature across all variants of its entry-level hatchback, the Alto K10. With this update, the Alto K10 has become one of the most affordable cars in India to offer enhanced safety features.
Along with the addition of six airbags, the Alto K10 now comes equipped with a three-point rear center seat belt, further improving passenger safety. However, this upgrade has resulted in a price hike of up to ₹16,000 across different trims. The hatchback is available in four variants, with prices starting at ₹4.23 lakh (ex-showroom).
This development follows Maruti Suzuki’s recent update to the Celerio, which also received six airbags as a standard feature. The move reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing safety across its product lineup.
Under the hood, the Alto K10 is powered by a 1.0L K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine, delivering great fuel efficiency. The car offers an impressive 24.90 km/l in the petrol variant and 33.40 km/kg in the CNG variant, making it an economical choice, additional safety features such as electronic stability control and rear parking sensors. With this update, Maruti Suzuki aims to provide an affordable yet secure driving experience for its customers.
