Amit Anantrao Shelar, a prominent resident of Wanawadi, Pune, has steadily built a reputation as a dedicated social activist and community leader.Born on November 24, 1988, Shelar is a B.Com graduate who works in the
construction business sector and also focuses on social service since 2018, making a tangible impact on thousands of lives.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shelar played a vital role in relief efforts, providing food, refreshments, and assistance to over 5,000–10,000 individuals, including Warkari devotees. His commitment to community engagement led him to establish the Shiv Swarajya Pratishthan in 2014, an organization that encourages cultural participation through initiatives like Ganpati-Gauri photo contests and Rangoli competitions.

Shelar’s foray into active politics came in 2025 when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), under the guidance of Pune MP and Minister For State Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol and Pune Cantonment Constituency MLA Sunil Kamble. Since then, he has been at the forefront of several local projects in Wanawadi, emphasizing community welfare, public safety, and civic improvements. His efforts span areas such as cleanliness drives, traffic management, and 24×7 safety services, along with contributions to health, education, and water supply initiatives.
