Amol Balwadkar Foundation Steps Up Once Again for Smooth Traffic Flow in Baner-Balewadi

In a bid to tackle growing traffic congestion in Pune’s rapidly developing Baner and Balewadi areas, the Amol Balwadkar Foundation has once again taken a proactive step by appointing 20 traffic wardens at major junctions across the locality. This initiative is being carried out under the guidance of Minister Chandrakant Patil, and marks the fourth consecutive year of this citizen-centric traffic management effort.
The appointed traffic wardens will be stationed during peak hours to assist the local traffic police in managing vehicular flow, preventing bottlenecks, and ensuring the safety of commuters, pedestrians, and schoolchildren. These wardens, trained and deployed by the foundation, are especially active at locations known for frequent jams and traffic violations.
Over the past three years, this initiative has received positive feedback from local residents, commuters, and law enforcement authorities, as it has played a crucial role in streamlining traffic movement, particularly during rush hours, festivals, and monsoon disruptions.
The foundation’s continued efforts are a step towards creating a model for community participation in urban governance, where civil society groups support administrative efforts in addressing day-to-day civic challenges.
Speaking about the initiative, a representative of the foundation stated:
“Our goal is to contribute to a safer and more organized urban environment. With the city’s infrastructure under constant strain due to rapid development, such community-led interventions are the need of the hour.”
With this initiative, citizens in Baner and Balewadi can expect safer, smoother, and more predictable travel, reflecting the foundation’s long-term commitment to the welfare of the community.
Another step forward in building a responsible, people-first society — Amol Balwadkar Foundation.
