Arijit Singh’s Wedding Performance Earned Him a Duplex in Mumbai; AR Rahman charges ₹3 Crore for Live Shows: Ikka
Arijit Singh has an enormous fan base, and recently, rappers Ikka Singh and Raftaar talked about Arijit’s humble nature despite his significant wealth. They pointed out that he leads a simple life and refrains from flaunting his riches. During their discussion, they shared an intriguing story about how much he earns. They mentioned that his fee for performing at a single wedding was so high that he was able to buy a duplex apartment in Mumbai with just that money.
On the Honestly Saying Podcast, Ikka remarked, “The amount of money he makes is incredible, and yet he remains the person he is. Many in the music industry consider themselves wealthy and often appear that way, including us, but Arijit could easily treat a hundred of us to lunch.” He also drew a comparison between Arijit’s down-to-earth personality and that of international rapper Eminem, who, despite being one of the best rappers ever, keeps his personal life private and uncomplicated.
Continuing the conversation about Arijit, Ikka shared an interesting story: “There was a time when he finished a show and had to wait for his car to arrive. Instead of waiting, he hopped into the auto-rickshaw in front of him and went home. I have another example to share: He’s not really a fan of performing at weddings, but when someone really pushed him to do it, he agreed. In exchange, he received a duplex in Mumbai. Just think about how much a duplex costs in that city! He got it for just a performance lasting 1 to 1.5 hours.”
Ikka compared Arijit Singh to AR Rahman, stating, “Rahman sir charges Rs 3 crores for a live performance. Just look at what Arijit sir charges. It’s also about timing, but he doesn’t make a fuss about it and that’s what sets them apart.”
Recently, Arijit performed at the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, sharing the stage with renowned artists such as Shreya Ghoshal, Sukhwinder Singh, Udit Narayan, and Lucky Ali. Videos of his duets with Shreya from the event quickly went viral on social media. Additionally, in August, Arijit made headlines by becoming the first Indian music artist to reach over 100 million followers on Spotify.
