Asia Cup 2025: India vs Pakistan Group Stage Clash Set for September 14 in Dubai
Dubai, August 2, 2025: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially confirmed the venues for the upcoming Men’s Asia Cup 2025, with the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan group stage match scheduled to take place at Dubai International Stadium on September 14.
The tournament, which will be played in the T20 format, will run from September 9 to 28, providing participating teams a platform to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026. The inaugural match of the Asia Cup will feature Afghanistan vs Hong Kong at Abu Dhabi on September 9, while the final will also be hosted in Dubai on September 28.
India is set to kick off its campaign against UAE on September 10, also in Dubai. Group A comprises India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
Despite ongoing tensions following the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, India has confirmed participation in the tournament, leading to some public criticism. Nevertheless, the ACC has pushed ahead with tournament plans, hoping to keep cricket and politics separate.
There is a high possibility of three India vs Pakistan encounters in the Asia Cup. If both teams advance to the Super Fours, they will meet again, and a third clash could take place in the final on September 28, setting the stage for an intense rivalry.
The full Asia Cup 2025 schedule, now with confirmed venues across Dubai and Abu Dhabi, promises a cricket-packed September for fans across the globe.
