Assault On Minor At Pune School Raises Safety Concerns
Pune News: Five-year-old boy assaulted in Kondhwa
In a troubling incident at a prominent school in Pune’s Bhawani Peth area, a 19-year-old student, Devaraj Padm Agri, was arrested for attempting to assault a seventh-grade girl on August 15. The victim was searching for her school bag on the second floor when Agri, who was loitering near the children’s restroom, forcibly grabbed her and dragged her inside.
The girl managed to escape and informed her 30-year-old mother about the incident. The mother promptly reported the assault to Samarth Police Station, leading to the registration of an FIR against Agri under sections 74 and 75(1)(i) of the POCSO Act.
The accused has been apprehended, and the investigation is underway. This incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced safety measures within schools to protect students from such threats.
