Aundh resident runs 100 kms with IPS Krishna Prakash spreading awareness on women empowerment

A resident of Aundh and a social activist, Mrunal Inamdar who is widely known for her unimaginable feats for chasing down several kilometres by running from Pune to Mumbai, has again taken her ability and message to a next level by running back and forth from Pune – Panvel – Pune, completing hundred kilometers in 23 hours by wearing nine yard saree, as a message to empower women around the world.

Mrunal Inamdar, an Aundh based resident had decided to run feat of 100 kilometers between Pune – Khandala – Pune, all this by wearing a typical Maharashtrian nine yard saree. When she conveyed the idea to IPS Krishna Prakash, the commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate did not hesitate in running down the said track by wearing a dhoti. The traditional drapery astonished the onlookers.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Mrunal Inamdar said, “Everyday should be woman’s day. Women should be strong and fit enough to take care of everything that comes their way. By running in Navwari saree, I want to send a message among all the women in our society that do not have a dress code barrier. Women around the world should do what they like. They should stay fit and only then they can take care of themselves and their family.”
