Ayodhya | April 14, 2025
Authorities in Ayodhya have launched an investigation after the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust reportedly received a threatening email concerning the security of the Ram temple, police said on Monday.
According to officials, the suspicious email—written in English—was traced to a sender based in Tamil Nadu. While the exact contents of the message have not been disclosed, police confirmed that the threat was received during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
So far, the Trust has not released any official statement regarding the threat. However, sources indicate that security agencies are treating the matter seriously, given the high-profile nature of the temple and the volume of devotees it draws.
The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya has become one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the country, attracting over 135.5 million domestic tourists in 2024, surpassing even the Taj Mahal. In light of the latest threat, security has been stepped up across Ayodhya, with increased patrolling and surveillance around the temple premises.
Police say further details will be shared once the source and intent behind the email are fully verified.
