Banks in Mumbai will remain closed today, Monday, September 8, 2025, on account of Eid-e-Milad, as per the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday calendar. The RBI had earlier notified on September 4 that the Eid-e-Milad holiday in Mumbai was shifted from September 5 to September 8.

Banks across the rest of the country will remain open as usual.

When are banks usually closed?

Banks in India remain closed on national holidays, state-specific festivals, the second and fourth Saturdays, and on all Sundays.
