Banks to Stay Open on June 15: Verify Before Visiting

Bank branches may be closed on certain Saturdays. Check before visiting.
Private and public sector banks in India observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, in addition to Sundays. Customers are advised to verify the operational status of their bank branch on specific Saturdays before planning a visit.
According to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, June 15 is a working day for banks. Contrary to some beliefs, June 15 is not a bank holiday as it falls on the third Saturday of the month. The RBI mandates that banks close on the second and fourth Saturdays, while the first, third, and fifth Saturdays are regular working days.

Bank holidays in June vary by state. Here’s a list of state-specific bank holidays:

Digital banking services remain uninterrupted
Despite physical bank branches being closed on designated holidays, customers can still perform transactions via the Internet and mobile banking applications. However, it’s important to note that bank staff will not be available for assistance on these days.
ATMs remain operational
ATMs will remain operational even when banks are closed, allowing customers to access cash and perform other transactions without interruption.
A spokesperson from a leading bank commented, “Even though our branches are closed on certain Saturdays, our digital banking services and ATMs ensure that customers can still manage their financial needs without any hassle.”
For any urgent banking needs, customers are encouraged to plan their visits accordingly and utilize digital services to avoid inconvenience.
