In the last few years Bavdhan has seen tremendous development in the real estate sector. But sadly the development on the infrastructure side is minimal and the residents of the area are facing the brunt of the lackadaisical attitude of the civic authority who has ignored basic development of the area. But, the deputy Sarpanch of Bavdhan, Deepak Dagade Patil, who is serving his second term, has heard the voice of citizens when authorities have defended their inaction with some excuses.
The stretch between Onkar Garden – Puranic Building road, which saw a number of complaints for its pathetic condition, was finally concretised recently and seems to be a commuter friendly road now.
Deepak Dagade Patil took it upon himself to repair the road and add another development work to his social work for the public welfare.
Upon talking with Deputy Sarpanch of the area, Dipak Dagade Patil said, “I have been personally inspecting such roads in our control for repairing them. Pedestrians and motorists should drive safe and that’s our only motive.”

However, after taking note of the development, the residents have complained that the civic authority, too, should resolve the approach roads to the service roads which are in terrible condition. The roads are not sweeped regularly and have several potholes.
Sarah Menon, a local resident said, “Concrete work was done towards Oxford Club Road, Nyati Equatorial Phase 2 side. In fact, the DSK Ranawara Road all the way from Crystal Honda Showroom needs ‘No Parking’ sign boards, at intervals especially the Shanktara Chowk. It is very difficult to manoeuvre car with cars and two wheelers parked on both sides by the shoppers.”
Hitesh Shroff, a local resident said, “The road access to the service road is better now. But the exit road from highway towards HEMRL is in pathetic condition – like craters on moon. Also the service road from HEMRL to Chellaram hospital is in similar worst condition.”
Pramod Deogaonkar another local resident said, “The approach road under bridge is still not improved.”
