Bharat Ratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi’s grandson Viraj to perform special song on the occasion of Ganeshotsav
Bharat Ratna Pt Bhimsen Joshi’s grandson Viraj Joshi will perform a special song called ‘Varad Vinayak He’ for the audience on the occasion of Ganeshotsav. The song is written and composed by Vocalist, Shrinivas Joshi, son of Bharat Ratna Pt Bhimsen Joshi and father of Viraj. The song, which features classical music as well as today’s contemporary music and equally intriguing videos will be made available for the audience through YouTube and Facebook on August 20, 2020.
Speaking about this song, Viraj said, “I have been singing songs written and composed by many people till date, but I always wanted to have a song of my own. Accordingly, I started working on the song ‘Varad Vinayak He’ during the lockdown period, which was composed by my father. Preserving the core of classical music, the song has been composed in such a way that today’s young generation will love it. My father wrote the lyrics of the song himself and also composed the music. This is the first time I will be performing for an audience in this way and I am very excited about it. I hope the audience enjoys it.”
“In addition, we have also made a video of the song, which will be performed for the audience on Facebook and YouTube on August 20. The song has been arranged by Sarang Kulkarni and Viraj will be seen performing in the video, Shriniwas Joshi said.
