Netflix gears up to stream the Diwali blockbuster this holiday season.
Fans of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 have another reason to celebrate, as the Kartik Aaryan starrer is set to premiere on OTT. After a successful theatrical run during Diwali, the horror-comedy will be available for streaming on Netflix from December 27, nearly two months after its release.
Netflix India announced the release on Instagram with a quirky video featuring Kartik Aaryan. In the clip, the actor excitedly approaches the camera before being startled, leaving fans intrigued. The caption read: “TUDUM: @kartikaaryan has an X-mas surprise for you! Coming soon.”
Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film features an ensemble cast, including Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, and Triptii Dimri. Known for its unique mix of humor and suspense, the movie builds on the franchise’s legacy while presenting a fresh storyline. Despite mixed reviews, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 earned an impressive ₹400 crore at the domestic box office.
India TV’s Aseem Sharma rated the film 4 out of 5 stars, praising its twists and originality. “Unlike its predecessors, this installment introduces a new plot revolving around Manjulika as the primary antagonist. It’s more than just a simple horror-comedy,” he noted.
The film faced stiff competition from Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again, as both big-budget projects clashed during Diwali. Bazmee, in an interview, admitted that the simultaneous release impacted both films’ box office collections.
“We announced our date a year in advance and worked tirelessly to meet the festive deadline. Moving the release wasn’t an option due to marketing schedules,” Bazmee explained.
With its OTT premiere, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is expected to captivate a new audience during the holiday season, continuing its streak of success. Fans can stream the movie on Netflix starting December 27.
