‘Big Billion Scam?’ Netizens Slam Flipkart After iPhone 16 Orders Cancelled Despite Payments
Flipkart’s much-hyped Big Billion Days 2025 sale has landed in controversy after a flood of complaints from customers who had their iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro orders cancelled despite successful payments.
The e-commerce giant had advertised jaw-dropping prices — iPhone 16 (128GB) at ₹51,999 and iPhone 16 Pro (128GB) at ₹75,999 — drawing huge interest from bargain-hunters, many of whom opted for the older model over the new iPhone 17. The offers went live on September 22 for Flipkart Black and Plus members and on September 23 for regular buyers.
However, shortly after bookings, users began reporting abrupt cancellations, citing “payment failure” even though money had been debited. Screenshots of cancellations quickly went viral on social media, with frustrated buyers branding the sale a “Big Billion Scam.”
Flipkart, I'm so angry about your false advertising. Your Big Billion Days sale is a total scam. It's shameful how you trick customers like this. Neither the iPhone 16 nor the Pixel 9 have gone down in price at all. Why lie to people with fake ads? pic.twitter.com/UQrcD6ZPvy

It wasn’t just Apple buyers who faced the issue — customers trying to purchase Google Pixel 9, Nothing Phone 3, and iPhone 14 also reported similar cancellations and sudden price hikes on certain models.
To everyone who placed their orders for iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models via @Flipkart during the Big Billion Days Sale and have been cancelled by Flipkart now — Don’t let this thing go, please drag this nuisance company to the Consumer Forum without fail.
