In a bizarre and shocking incident from Bihar’s West Champaran district, a one-year-old boy bit a cobra to death after mistaking it for a toy. The incident took place in Bettiah when the toddler, identified as Govinda, was playing at home and encountered a two-foot-long cobra that had entered the house.

According to eyewitnesses, the unsuspecting child picked up the snake and, in an instinctive act, bit it. The cobra died on the spot. The child, however, fell unconscious soon after the incident and was rushed to Majhauliya Primary Health Centre by his family.

He was later shifted to Bettiah Government Medical College and Hospital for further care. Dr. Devikant Mishra, Deputy Superintendent of the hospital, told Live Hindustan that the child showed no signs of venom infection and is currently out of danger.

Locals believe the toddler acted on reflex after the cobra came too close, possibly attracting his attention like a toy. The survival of the child without any venom effects has left the community astonished.
