Gurgaon, January 2, 2025: Instant delivery app Blinkit has introduced a new service in Gurgaon, offering 10-minute ambulance assistance. The service, which went live on Thursday, is starting with five ambulances, according to Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhinsa.
Each ambulance is equipped with essential life-saving tools such as oxygen cylinders, Automated External Defibrillators (AED), stretchers, monitors, and emergency medicines. Additionally, a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver will staff every vehicle, ensuring efficient medical support during emergencies.

We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities. The first five ambulances will be on the road in Gurugram starting today. As we expand the service to more areas, you will start… pic.twitter.com/N8i9KJfq4z
Dhinsa emphasized that the initiative is aimed at addressing the critical need for reliable and quick ambulance services rather than generating profit. Customers can book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the Blinkit app, with the service priced at ₹2,000. However, the ambulances do not currently support neonatal or ventilator care.
“Our goal is to make this service accessible in all major cities within the next two years,” Dhinsa stated. He encouraged users to give way to ambulances on roads, as even a small gesture could save a life.
Blinkit’s move adds to its portfolio of instant services, including grocery deliveries and document printouts, positioning the app as a multi-service platform in urban India.
