A tense atmosphere gripped Mumbai and Delhi on Sunday after multiple bomb threats were reported across key public locations. In Mumbai, a chilling call claimed that an explosive device had been placed at Dadar railway station — one of the city’s busiest transit hubs. Authorities quickly mobilized forces, but the scare was later confirmed to be a false alarm.

The alert was triggered when the Shivaji Park police station received a phone call warning about a bomb allegedly planted at Dadar station. Responding swiftly, the Mumbai Police, along with the Government Railway Police (GRP) and the bomb detection squad, conducted a thorough search operation at the station and nearby areas. Fortunately, no suspicious object was found during the extensive investigation.

Law enforcement officials have registered a case and launched a probe to trace the origin of the call. Based on preliminary findings, authorities believe the threat was most likely a hoax.

While Mumbai was dealing with this false bomb alert, similar threats caused panic in the national capital. Delhi Police confirmed that several institutions, including schools and the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI), received threatening emails on the same day.

The emails contained alarming messages claiming that explosives had been planted around the premises of the schools and the airport. The senders demanded immediate action, warning that failure to respond within 24 hours would result in what they described as a “pool of blood.”

The email was signed off by someone claiming to lead a group identified as “terrorizers 111,” and used highly threatening language to describe their intent and objectives.

Security agencies are treating the situation with utmost seriousness and have begun investigations to trace the sender behind the email threats. No explosives were found in Delhi either, but precautionary evacuations and security drills were carried out at affected locations.

Although both incidents turned out to be hoaxes, they caused widespread panic and disrupted daily life in two of India’s busiest cities. Authorities are not taking any chances and continue to investigate these threats thoroughly. Police have reassured the public that strict action will be taken against those responsible for spreading fear and wasting emergency resources.
