Affordable 5G smartphone with 50MP OIS camera and 5000mAh battery
Samsung has launched its latest budget-friendly 5G smartphone, the Galaxy M17 5G, in India with a starting price of Rs 12,499. The phone will be available via Samsung’s official website and Amazon, with sales beginning on October 13.
The Galaxy M17 5G succeeds the Galaxy M16 5G and comes with significant upgrades in design, performance, and battery life. It features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 1100 nits peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
Powered by the Exynos 1330 chipset, the device supports up to 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, expandable to 2TB via microSD. It runs on Android 16-based OneUI 8, with six years of OS upgrades promised by Samsung.
The phone houses a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera, while the front camera is 13MP.
For power, it packs a 5000mAh battery with 25W fast charging, and carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. The phone also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C connectivity.
