CCTV shows iron pieces crashing down in Bhosari; victim in ICU
Pune: A motorcyclist was critically injured on Thursday afternoon after heavy iron pieces fell on him from the Bhosari flyover in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Police said the load fell when a tempo collided with the flyover’s wall, dislodging the iron pieces.
CCTV footage of the incident shows multiple iron pieces tumbling from the structure and striking the rider, who lost consciousness immediately. Locals rushed to his aid, and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he remains in the intensive care unit.
According to police, the injured has been identified as Ritesh Ghogare (21), a resident of Bhosari. He was on his way to Chakan, where he works in the private sector
According to preliminary reports, the tempo lost control after failing to climb an incline, possibly due to overloading, rolled back, and struck the wall of the flyover. The impact caused the load to spill onto the road below.
Panic gripped the area as the accident unfolded, with police and emergency responders arriving shortly after. The investigation into the incident is underway.
