Car Plunges 300 Feet Into Gorge Near Satara’s Reverse Waterfall — Driver Critically Injured (VIDEO)

Satara, Maharashtra – A tragic accident occurred near the famous reverse waterfall at Sadawaghapur in Satara district’s Patan taluka on Wednesday. A car carrying five tourists plunged nearly 300 feet into a deep gorge, leaving 20-year-old Sahil Jadhav from Gholeshwar, Karad critically injured.
According to police, the group of friends had driven from Karad to see the scenic waterfall, which becomes especially captivating during the monsoon. While four of them stepped out of the vehicle near the Table Point to click photos, Sahil remained seated inside. Moments later, the car’s tyres reportedly slipped on wet grass, and Sahil lost control, leading to the fall.
The incident took place on the Patan-Sadawaghapur road, within the limits of Gujarwadi, near the Table Point area—a popular spot for tourists but surrounded on both sides by dangerous gorges.

Upon receiving information about the accident, Police Inspector Avinash Kavathekar and his team rushed to the scene. With the help of students from Kingmaker Academy in Surul, they managed to rescue Sahil from the gorge. He was immediately shifted to Sahyadri Hospital in Karad for urgent treatment.
Police have urged tourists visiting the reverse waterfall to remain cautious, especially while taking photographs in risky spots. “Many tourists visit this spot every day. While enjoying the beauty, people must be extra careful near the Table Point, as both sides have deep valleys,” the police said in an advisory.
They added, “Enjoy tourism, but always ensure your own and others’ safety. Negligence can put lives at serious risk.”
