Case Filed Against Celebrity Hairstylist Jawed Habib for Alleged ₹Crypto Scam Involving Over 150 Investors
The Sambhal police have registered a case against well-known hairstylist Jawed Habib, his son Anas Habib, and three others for allegedly cheating more than 150 people by promising huge profits through cryptocurrency investments.
According to police reports, the accused lured people into investing in Bitcoins and Binance Coins under the company Follicile Global Company (FLC), claiming they would earn 50% to 75% returns within a year.
How the scam unfolded:
In 2023, Jawed Habib and his son reportedly organized a seminar at the Royal Palace Banquet Hall in Sambhal’s Sarayatreen area. During the event, they promised investors guaranteed high profits and encouraged them to invest their money in FLC. Many attendees transferred large sums to the company’s accounts, some of which were allegedly held by a man named Saiful, who claimed to be a company director.
However, when investors later demanded their returns, the company was suddenly shut down, and the accused allegedly went missing.
Police investigation:
Sambhal Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi said several victims approached the police, including Mohammad Hilal, Rehan, Aman, Majid Hussain, and Mohammad Naim, alleging that they were defrauded of lakhs of rupees.
SP Bishnoi ordered Additional SP Alok Bhati to investigate the case. The inquiry confirmed that the accused had cheated investors by offering fake promises of high profits.
A fraud case has now been registered against Jawed Habib, his son Anas Habib, Saiful, and others at Raisatti Police Station under multiple sections related to cheating and financial fraud.
Police said further investigation is underway to trace the accused and recover the defrauded money.
