CBSE boards to be held twice-a-year from 2024-25 batch

CBSE boards to be held twice-a-year from 2024-25 batch
The first group of students to have the chance to take the multiple board format will be those who start class X and XII in the 2024–2025 academic year.
A senior official at the Ministry of Education of India stated that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will administer the first multiple board exams starting in 2025, with the exception of the one exam in 2021 that had to be divided into two due to Covid-19.
The twice-a-year board format will be implemented starting in the 2024–2025 academic year, according to Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. This implies that the format will be used starting with the 2025 board exams for Classes X and XII. This will take effect for current students in Classes IX and XI.
A senior official of Ministry of Education of India said that for Class X and XII, the new twice-yearly board exam system will not be required. The system is designed to ease the stress of students who worry about missing out on a single opportunity. A candidate will have the option to decline to take the next exam if, having studied well, he/she is happy with the exam results from the previous set.
In 2023, 38.82 lakh candidates filed applications for the CBSE boards for Classes X (21.86 lakh) and XII (16.96 lakh). The first of the 2025 boards is anticipated to be delivered in November or December of that year, and the second one in February or March of that same year, according to sources. For the final results and merit list, the best of the two scores would be used.
