The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has instructed all its affiliated schools to create and maintain active websites where staff qualifications and other essential information must be made publicly accessible. Despite repeated reminders, many schools have failed to comply with this directive. CBSE has now issued a final warning, stating that punitive action will be taken if the necessary steps are not implemented within 30 days.

CBSE Secretary Himanshu Gupta highlighted this issue in a recently released circular. The board had earlier issued similar directives twice over the past two years, giving schools ample time to meet the requirements. However, numerous schools still lack active websites or have provided incomplete or inaccessible information. In some cases, documents have been uploaded but not prominently displayed or linked correctly on the homepage, causing non-compliance.

The circular has clarified that this is the last opportunity for schools to fulfill the mandate. Schools that fail to comply within the stipulated timeframe will face strict action as per CBSE bylaws. The directive aims to ensure transparency and accessibility of information for all stakeholders, including parents and students, to uphold educational standards and accountability.
