Celebrate Azadi with BSNL’s ₹1 Plan – Free Calls, Daily Data, and More
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a limited-time promotional offer called the ‘Freedom Offer’, giving new users access to unlimited calls, daily 2GB 4G data, and 100 SMS per day, all for just Re 1.
The offer is available until August 31 and includes a free SIM card. However, the scheme is exclusive to new customers and not valid for existing BSNL users.
As per BSNL’s Fair Usage Policy (FUP), the 4G speed will drop to 40kbps once the 2GB daily data limit is crossed.

To activate the Freedom Offer, customers must visit the nearest BSNL retailer or Common Services Centre (CSC). There is no confirmation yet on whether the offer can be availed through BSNL’s SIM doorstep delivery service.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director A Robert J. Ravi stated, “With BSNL’s 4G—designed, developed, and deployed under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ mission—we are proud to be placing India among nations that have built their own telecom stack.” He further added that the Freedom Plan gives citizens a 30-day free trial of BSNL’s indigenous 4G network.
BSNL is currently in the process of deploying 1 lakh (100,000) 4G towers across India, with a focus on rural connectivity.
The launch comes as a competitive move against private telecom players like Jio (Rs 349), Airtel (Rs 379), and Vodafone Idea (Rs 399) who offer similar benefits at higher prices.
