Aurangabad, September 12, 2025: Police have detained a 48-year-old woman, identified as Ruchika Jain, for allegedly impersonating an Army officer and duping people by attending public events dressed in a military uniform.

According to Daulatabad Police, Jain frequently appeared at various programs as a ‘Captain,’ wearing an Army uniform and even posing for photographs. During the investigation, officers recovered an Army uniform, a badge with the word “Para,” three-star insignia used to denote military ranks, and a nameplate reading Captain Ruchika Jain.

Police also seized four medals, several awards, mementos, invitation cards listing her as ‘Captain,’ and multiple photographs of her wearing the Army uniform. Officials revealed that she had been projecting herself as a bogus Army officer for a long time, misleading people and gaining social recognition.

In addition to the fake military items, police recovered weapons from her residence, including an air pistol and an air gun. Shockingly, the pistol carried a marking that read “No license required.” Authorities are investigating how she acquired the weapons and whether they were misused.
