Chikhali Demolition Drive: 2,528 Illegal Structures Cleared Across 201.57 Lakh Sq. Ft. In 5 Days
Pimpri-Chinchwad: As part of the demolition drive against unauthorized constructions in Kudalwadi, Chikhali, authorities have removed 2,528 illegal structures covering 201.57 lakh square feet as of today. The drive, which has been ongoing for the past five days, has cleared encroachments across 465 acres, and officials have confirmed that the operation will continue.
High-Intensity Demolition Underway
Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh and Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Choubey, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) launched the demolition drive on February 8, 2025. The operation is targeting illegal sheds, factories, warehouses, scrap shops, and other unauthorized constructions in the area.
On the fifth day of the operation, authorities took action against 528 illegal structures spanning 40.57 lakh square feet across 93 acres.

Heavy Deployment of Machinery and Manpower
The demolition operation involved the use of 16 Poklains, 8 JCBs, 1 crane, and 4 cutters for clearing the illegal structures. Additionally, the municipal corporation deployed 4 executive engineers and 16 deputy engineers, while security arrangements included 180 Maharashtra Security Force personnel, 600 police officers, and laborers. For emergency preparedness, 3 fire tenders and 2 ambulances were stationed at the site.
Officials Overseeing the Drive
Prominent officials present during the operation included Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar, Regional Officers Rajesh Aghle, Sucheta Pansare, Amit Pandit, Kishor Nanaware, Mahesh Waghmode, Ajinkya Yele, Sheetal Wakde, and Shrikant Kolpe, along with various engineers and staff members. To maintain law and order, a strong police presence was ensured under Police Joint Commissioner Shashikant Mahawarkar and Additional Police Commissioner Vasant Paradeshi.
“This joint operation by the municipal corporation and police administration aims to clear encroachments on reserved development zones and civic utility spaces in Kudalwadi. The demolition drive will continue further.” said Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Additional Commissioner (1), Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.
The PCMC and police administration remain committed to taking strict action against illegal constructions, ensuring planned urban development in the region.
