Renowned British rock group Coldplay is poised to captivate audiences in India with their Music of the Spheres tour. Originally scheduled for three performances at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, the excitement is palpable.
The fourth concert of their tour in India is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25, 2025. Tickets for this event will be available for purchase starting November 16, 2024, at 12 noon.
Fans are undoubtedly preparing for an exhilarating experience as they look forward to seeing their favorite artists, Chris Martin, Johnny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, perform at the event. This modern facility boasts four dressing rooms, 11 central pitches, and two practice fields, establishing it as a top-tier venue for cricket.
The Narendra Modi Stadium, located in Ahmedabad, the capital of Gujarat, is a prominent international cricket venue in India. Named in honor of the current Prime Minister of India, it boasts an impressive seating capacity of 132,000 spectators. This remarkable capacity has earned the stadium the distinction of being the largest cricket stadium in the world.
Spanning 50 acres, the land for the stadium was generously donated by the Gujarat state government, and the construction was completed in just nine months.
The venue has hosted several significant cricket events, such as the opening match of the ICC World Cup 2023, the ICC World Cup Final between India and Australia on November 19, 2023, the finals of the Indian Premier League in both 2022 and 2023, as well as matches from the ICC Champions Trophy, test matches, and numerous other notable games.
In 2020, the Narendra Modi stadium served as the venue for the ‘Namaste Trump’ event, which was organized to greet US President Donald Trump during his initial term in office.
Coldplay, celebrated for their stunning performances, will showcase popular tracks from their Grammy-nominated album ‘Music Of The Spheres’, as well as their latest single ‘We Pray’ from the recent release ‘Moon Music’.
“ The show in Ahmedabad marks a monumental milestone for Coldplay as they will perform the largest stadium show of their career right here in India, bringing a moment of pride and honour to the entire nation,” says an official release by BookMyShow.
