Commuters Demand Resumption Of Hirkani And Lal Pari Buses On Baramati-Pune Route

Pune, March 17, 2025: The Baramati-Pune route previously had a non-stop, conductor-less bus service operated by Hirkani and Lal Pari buses under the Maharashtra State Transport (ST) Corporation. However, for the past few months, these buses have been discontinued, and only Shivshahi buses have been running on this route.

Passengers have raised concerns over the Shivshahi buses, as they have higher ticket prices and are often in poor condition. Many of these buses break down mid-journey, causing inconvenience to travelers. The lack of affordable and reliable bus services has left daily commuters frustrated.

Citizens are now urging the ST Corporation to reinstate the Hirakani and Lal Pari buses on the Baramati-Pune route under the non-stop, conductor-less service. They also demand that faulty Shivshahi buses be removed from this route to prevent further disruptions.

The issue gained further attention when Supriya Sule, MP of the Baramati constituency, raised the matter on X (formerly Twitter) yesterday. Her post has sparked discussions among commuters and transport officials.
