Balewadi residents’ complaint on water logging and potholes at Golden Trellis route to Concord Portia unresolved for the last four years

The route going from Golden Trellis to Concord Portia is even tougher for the vehicles to travel, let alone be for pedestrians. The frequent complaints to the PMC regarding the potholes and water logging at the route has been a spot of bother which has been addressed by no officials, so far; thus; residents are tired and helpless as the authorities are pushing away the responsibilities.

Upon speaking with Sudarshan Jagdale, the president of ‘My Life Foundation’ said, “For the last four years, we have been complaining. How long do we have to stay quiet for not getting our basic rights? I have followed with all the engineers, officials, contractors, corporators and even the commissioner, but no action has been taken? Many times, we contribute money from our pockets and carry out the work. Just wondering how a taxpayer struggles.”

Escalating this issue with Ashwini Langhi, a PMC official who was in charge of the area, said, “This work comes under the smart city officials. Last year, I had tried to level the potholes, but as I am no longer in charge of the area, I won’t be able to do the work there.”

The residents voiced their opinion on how the officials push away their responsibilities. The residents have been following up with the authorities, but they have been either given unfulfilled assurance, or a visit to the site by the corporators and the engineers, which did no justice to their problems.

Pune Pulse reached out to local corporator Amol Balwadkar but he did not respond to the frequent calls.

Suresh Borse, a smart city official incharge of Balewadi road said, “We have been waiting for dp marking of the route. Once the DP marking is done, we will immediately repair the remote looking route.”

Upon being asked why it is taking four years for the civic authorities to do DP marking, he said, “We have been working for the last one and half year. We cannot comment on the previous work. “
