Crime Ka The End: Lonavala Assault to Daund Robbery — Pune Rural Police Wraps It Up In 24 Hours
Pune, August 1, 2025: Pune Rural Police have swiftly solved two serious cases of sexual assault and arrested members of a robbery gang, all within 24 hours.
Two Sexual Assault Accused Caught
In the first case, on July 15, a woman from Javhan No. 3 village was assaulted by a biker near Khadakmewande while she was walking alone. Based on her description and local inquiry, police arrested 35-year-old Balu Dattu Shirke from the same village. He confessed to the crime and is now in judicial custody.
In the second case, a woman was kidnapped in a white car on July 25 near Narayan Dham Road, Lonavala. She later clarified that only one person was involved — Sunil Vasant Gaikwad — who took her to a secluded area and assaulted her. He was arrested from his café in Tungarli and sent to jail.
Robbery Gang Caught in Daund
On June 11, five men looted gold, silver, and cash worth ₹3.52 lakh from a home in Boribel village, Daund, at knifepoint. Following a tip-off, a police team arrested three suspects — Yogesh Bhosale, Sachin Bhosale, and Gahininath Bhosale — and recovered stolen items worth ₹71,120.
They also revealed the names of three more accomplices. The gang is linked to 19 robberies across Pune, Solapur, Satara, Sambhajinagar, and other districts.
These arrests were made under the direction of SP Sandeep Singh Gill and senior officers from Pune and Baramati divisions.
The quick police action has brought relief to local residents and sent a strong message to criminals.
