Pune is witnessing a disturbing spike in crime as five murders have occurred in just 48 hours. The city continues to reel under the terror of gangs and rising violence, with multiple cases highlighting the gravity of the situation.
In the Sinhagad Road police station limits, an 18-year-old was brutally beaten by four men on suspicion of stealing petrol. The victim succumbed to injuries during treatment. In another incident in the same area, three juveniles killed a young man over a past enmity on Tuesday night.
A similar incident was reported in Wanwadi, where juveniles attacked and killed a minor with a sharp weapon. Meanwhile, in Kondhwa, a man was killed after being hit on the head with a cement block.
In Wagholi, a shocking murder occurred where a minor killed 46-year-old Raju Lohar after a petty argument over alcohol. The minor hit Lohar on the chest with a stone, leading to his death. The police were quick to respond, with officials including DCP Himmat Jadhav, ACP Pranjali Sonawane, and Senior Inspector Pandit Rejitwad visiting the crime scene.
This wave of murders has sparked concerns about law and order in Pune. Authorities are under pressure to address the growing violence, especially involving juveniles. Citizens are demanding swift action and stricter measures to restore peace in the city.
