A crocodile was spotted by security personnel at Varasgaon Dam on Tuesday night. Rahul Jadhav and Kunal Borade, conducting routine checks of the dam’s water level around 10:00 PM, spotted movement in the darkness ahead of them. Illuminating the area with their torch, they were shocked to discover a crocodile slowly approaching the security post near the dam wall.

Reacting swiftly, Jadhav and Borade immediately alerted the Branch Engineer, who promptly rushed to the scene. Simultaneously, they informed the Velhe Forest Department about the unexpected visitor. By 11:00 PM, officials from the Forest Department along with a specialized rescue team had arrived at the dam.
Upon arrival, the team secured the area and began monitoring the crocodile’s movements closely. The safety of both the animal and the personnel present was prioritized as efforts were made to assess the situation and plan the next steps.
The presence of a crocodile in an area frequented by security personnel and engineers highlights the need for vigilance and coordinated response in such instances.
