Data reveals 1,052 died of cardiac arrest in Gujrat in past 6 months ; 80 percent of deaths in 11-25 age group
According to State Education Minister Kuber Dindor, 1,052 individuals have succumbed to heart attacks in Gujarat over the past six months. Shockingly, 80 percent of these unfortunate deaths occurred within the age group of 11 to 25 years.
As per the information provided, due to the increasing incidence of heart attacks, approximately two lakh school teachers and college professors will undergo training in the implementation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This essential procedure plays a vital role in saving lives during medical emergencies.
As per the information received, it was revealed that a staggering number of 1,052 individuals have succumbed to heart attacks in Gujarat over the past six months. Surprisingly, approximately 80 percent of these unfortunate victims belonged to the age group of 11 to 25 years, and what’s more astonishing is that they were not even obese. Furthermore, the 108 ambulance service receives an alarming average of 173 cardiac emergency calls each day.
The minister emphasized the unfortunate incidents of people losing their lives, either while playing cricket or participating in garba, due to heart attacks in the past six or seven months. In light of this, he urged teachers to actively participate in the CPR training camp, as it could potentially save lives.
As part of the state Education Department’s initiative, CPR training camps will be organized at 37 medical colleges from December 3 to 17. These camps aim to provide training to approximately two lakh school and college teachers. Dindor mentioned that a total of 2,500 medical professionals and doctors will attend these training camps, and the participants will receive certificates as well.
