Mumbai, Nov 1, 2024 – Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh delighted their fans by sharing the first photograph of their newborn daughter. Adding to the festive Diwali spirit, the actors revealed her name: Dua Padukone Singh.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, they shared, “Dua Padukone Singh | दुआ पादुकोण सिंह ‘Dua’: meaning a Prayer. Because She is the Answer to our Prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love & Gratitude. Deepika & Ranveer.” The announcement has since gone viral, with fans and friends flooding social media to celebrate the couple’s newest family member.
Welcoming Baby Dua
Padukone and Singh, who famously starred together in hits like Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and 83, welcomed Dua just a day after Deepika was admitted to a Mumbai hospital. The duo initially announced the baby’s birth on Instagram with a simple caption, “Welcome Baby Girl! 8.9.2024.”
Celebrities across Bollywood poured in their congratulations. Alia Bhatt left heart emojis, while Arjun Kapoor exclaimed, “Laxmi aayi hai! The queen is here.” Other stars, including Ananya Panday, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sonakshi Sinha, also extended their well-wishes.
A Blessed Diwali for DeepVeer
Fans noticed a glimpse of Deepika and Ranveer’s gratitude during a recent temple visit at Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak, where they offered prayers on Ganesh Chaturthi’s eve, celebrating new beginnings. The couple, who wed in 2018 at Lake Como, Italy, shared their journey to parenthood earlier this year. In February, they announced the pregnancy, after rumors circulated following Deepika’s appearance at the 77th BAFTA Awards.
The proud parents will next make an appearance in Singham Again, directed by Rohit Shetty and released Friday.
