Passengers Express Frustration Over Uncomfortable Conditions

June 17, 2024

Pune: Approximately 100 passengers on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Pune (SG-8938) experienced significant discomfort due to inadequate air conditioning during a nearly one-hour delay on Saturday.

A passenger shared her experience with a news agency, “Boarding was on time at 4.20pm for the 4.45pm flight, but the cooling issue was evident as soon as we entered the aircraft. The vents were barely blowing air. I assumed it would improve, but it didn’t. The intense Delhi heat made the situation unbearable,” she said.

The flight eventually departed around 5.30pm. Passengers reported that the air conditioning did not improve even after takeoff, causing increasing agitation. “About an hour into the flight, the cooling was still inadequate. A woman tried to record a video of the conditions, but the cabin crew stopped her. When passengers vocally complained, the air conditioning suddenly started working properly,” another passenger recounted.

Despite the passengers’ complaints, a SpiceJet spokesperson denied any issues with the air conditioning. “There was no air conditioning issue on the SpiceJet flight,” the spokesperson stated.
