Pimpri, January 16, 2025 – The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), in collaboration with the Divyang Bhavan Foundation, is set to host the ‘Purple Jallosh – Festival for the Differently-Abled’ from January 17 to 19, 2025. The grand event will be inaugurated by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on January 17 at 5 PM at the Auto Cluster Exhibition Center in Chinchwad.

The event will feature the presence of Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Narayan Rane, Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Dattatray Bharane, and other dignitaries. Officials from various state and central government departments will also attend.

The festival aims to empower the differently-abled by integrating them into mainstream society and offering opportunities in education, employment, and healthcare. Over 40 startups, corporate organizations, and institutions will participate, creating avenues for innovation and support.

A variety of events, including literary meets, poetry sessions, panel discussions, a film festival, a fashion show, and cultural programs, have been planned to showcase the talents of differently-abled individuals. The PCMC has illuminated its administrative building in purple lights to symbolize solidarity with the cause.

Additionally, the festival includes a unique ‘Sahitya Jatra’ (literary carnival), featuring events like poetry recitals, storytelling, and discussions with writers. Visitors can also attend the ‘Sattat Kavi Katta,’ an open platform for differently-abled poets to present their works on January 18 and 19.

This initiative underscores the PCMC’s commitment to creating an inclusive society by providing a platform for the differently-abled to express their skills and talents.
