Devara OTT Release Date: A Highly Anticipated Streaming Debut Â
As the release date approaches, fans eagerly await the official confirmation of the streaming date, hoping to experience Devara: Part 1 in all its cinematic glory from their TV sets and mobile devices.
Fans of Telugu superstar Jr NTR are buzzing with excitement as his latest film, Devara: Part 1, gears up for its OTT release. After a successful theatrical run that began on September 27, the film has amassed impressive box office earnings, raking in ₹280.80 crore domestically and ₹509 crore globally. It currently holds an IMDb rating of 6.4/10.
Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara: Part 1, features a stellar cast, including Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Viewers can look forward to watching the film in multiple regional languages, such as Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil, reflecting its diverse appeal.
According to media reports, the film is set to stream on Netflix starting November 8, 2024, just 25 days after its theatrical release. Although the filmmakers have not yet issued an official announcement regarding the digital premiere, audiences will soon be able to enjoy, Devara from the comfort of their homes.
The plot follows the journey of a village chief’s son, portrayed by Jr NTR, who secretly carries on his late father’s mission against smuggling while maintaining a facade of weakness. Critics, however, have noted that the film lacks depth, describing it as a simple tale of a son taking up his father’s mantle without fully exploring character motivations. Uday Bhatia, a film critic, remarked, “Devara: Part 1 is the simplest of stories: two compatriots fall out, son takes up father’s mantle… It’s long simply because films of this kind are expected to be long.”
In its first week, Devara performed strongly at the box office, with total earnings of ₹209.87 crore across all languages in India. With an ensemble cast that also includes Chaitra Rai, Shruti Marathe, Shine Tom Chacko, Murali Sharma, and Kalaiyarasan, the film is produced by NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts, featuring a soundtrack by Anirudh Ravichander.
