New Delhi, August 13, 2025: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has served a show-cause notice to IndiGo, citing irregularities in simulator training for nearly 1,700 pilots, including captains and first officers, sources revealed.

The notice follows a review of training records and responses provided by the airline last month. The regulator reportedly found that Category C, or critical airfield training, was conducted using simulators that were not qualified for operations at certain high-risk airports such as Calicut, Leh, and Kathmandu.

Airports like Calicut, with its tabletop runway, require pilots to meet additional operational training standards. The DGCA’s scrutiny found that these standards were not met in the simulator training sessions under review.

In response, IndiGo confirmed receiving the notice and said it is assessing the matter. “We confirm receipt of a show-cause notice issued by the DGCA pertaining to simulator training of some of our pilots. We are in the process of reviewing the same and will respond to the regulator within the stipulated timeline,” the airline stated, as quoted by PTI.
