The Cantonment police have filed a case against the owner and a staff member of Hotel Shahi Dawat in Pune Camp, accusing them of assaulting a customer on October 25. The incident occurred when Zakir Hussain Pathan, 40, questioned a delay in his food parcel order, reportedly angering the accused, who then attacked him.

According to police reports, Pathan had ordered food for takeaway. When he inquired about the wait time, the accused allegedly became agitated and struck him with a hard object. Pathan sustained injuries to his head, neck, and ear.

The suspects have been identified as Shahbaz Shaikh, 44, a resident of Radiant Paradise in Wanowrie, and Mohammad Ayaz Shaikh, 24, from Ambegaon. Following the incident, police invoked multiple sections of the BNS, including sections 118(1), 115(2), 352, 351(2)(3), and 3(5), against the duo.

The police stated that the argument escalated quickly, leading to a violent confrontation. They described the injuries to Pathan as serious, though he has received medical treatment. This incident has sparked concerns about customer safety and staff conduct at local establishments.
